Dr. David Hazlett
David graduated from Barrie Central in 1972 and shortly thereafter started working with Dr. Noel Stephenson. While working with Dr. Stephenson, he completed the requirements for his Optician's License through Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. In 1979 he decided to continue his studies by going back to school for this Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo. He graduated in 1985 and also received the Essilor Award for Excellence in Clinical Optics. He returned to Barrie to continue working with Dr. Stephenson and relocated the practice to 75 Cedar Pointe Drive in 1988. Dr. Stephenson retired in 1990 after 45 years of service to the area residents. Dr. Hazlett has been married to Rev. Donna Hazlett since 1976 and enjoys windsurfing, boating, painting, stained glass, woodworking and landscaping.
Dr. John Hamilton
John graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1995 with Doctor of Optometry and Honours Bachelor of Science degrees. He began practicing with Dr. Hazlett at this time and became a partner in 1999. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His many hobbies include hockey, basketball, fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Dr. Paul McLean
Paul obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree from both McMaster and Guelph Universities. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2001 with his Doctor of Optometry degree. He has practiced in Barrie since graduating and joined Cedar Pointe Optometry in 2006. Dr. McLean is also responsible for the eye care of the military at Base Borden. He and his wife Tammy have fun running after their two very energetic young sons and daughter. He is involved in many sports including hockey and golf.
Dr. Kimberly Krmpotic
Dr. Krmpotic received her Honours Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Optometry degrees with distinction to the Dean's Honour List from the University of Waterloo in 2009. She has completed an ocular disease rotation in Houston, Texas and an eye care mission in Calama, Chile in 2008. Dr. Krmpotic joined the practice in 2009 and became a partner in 2015. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Ontario Association of Optometrists. A native of North Bay, Ontario, Dr. Krmpotic is bilingual and is pleased to offer eye examinations in both French and English at our Barrie or Stayner location. When not practicing optometry, Dr. Krmpotic enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and running after their two young children.
